I'm here by the shore of Mirror Lake in Lake Placid, NY, waiting for Kirsten to start her two mile cable race. The weather is beautiful and perfect. She has a 9:30 AM start.
She is an awesome swimmer. She's wet in that last picture because she was warming up in the 68 F water.
Damn, that water was cold! Post race I was in a long sleeve shirt, fleece sweatshirt and pants, wool socks, swim parka, bright orange wool hat knitted in form of octopus and drinking hot tea. I won 4th in my age group/division (out of 12), in case anyone is wondering.
